AVON RALLIES AGAINST BEREA-MIDPARK TO STAY UNBEATEN IN SWC

AVON — Points were at a premium Tuesday night with two of the top teams in the Southwestern Conference — Avon and Berea-Midpark — taking the court.

That is, until the fourth quarter.

The Eagles nearly matched their points total for the previous three quarters, rallying for a 48-40 win over the Titans to remain unbeaten in the SWC.

“I thought we faced a little bit of adversity heading into the fourth quarter,” Avon coach Kevin Sapara said. “They were dictating the tempo for most of the game and we weren’t able to get out and run. I thought we did a great job of starting the fourth quarter positively — taking the lead right away and getting a bit of a cushion.
