After taking a 14-point lead into the fourth quarter, Avon held off a 10-1 Olmsted Falls run in the final two minutes to beat the Bulldogs, 70-67, on the road Jan. 20 to remain unbeaten in Southwestern Conference play.

The Eagles headed into the locker room at halftime up 32-31, and outscored Olmsted Falls, 21-8, in the third quarter. But Avon faced foul trouble throughout the whole second half, and when Ryan Maloy and Justin Ladegaard fouled out within 30 seconds of each other with 3:28 still to play, the Eagles had to keep their composure to stop Olmsted Falls from handing them their first conference loss of the season.
