The Eagles were all about sharing the wealth to kick off their Baron Cup II adventure on Feb. 6.
All of Avon’s goals were scored by different players and seven players registered points as the top-seeded Eagles (26-5-1) were victorious, 4-2, against Bay (13-11-1) at Brooklyn’s John M. Coyne Recreation Center.
Avon advances to a Baron Cup II semifinal on Feb. 10 at 5:30 p.m., where it will face the winner of the Benedictine-NDCL game played on Feb. 7.
“I think teams are starting to realize that No. 19 (senior Zach Zwierecki) has a lot of points,” Avon coach Kyle Botos said. “They’re realizing that if you stop 19, you have a chance to win. But it’s good to see my younger kids starting to step up and make a contribution.
