At the 21st annual Avon Lake Invitational on March 31, Avon made a lot of noise with the boys team claiming the title (101.25) and senior Kamryn Sharer shining with four event wins on the girls side.
The Avon girls took second (102) behind champion Brunswick (174).
Sharer opened the season with a big statement to her competition. She won the 100 hurdles (16.09), 300 hurdles (50.29), the long jump (16-3.25) and was the fourth leg of the winning 4×400 relay (4:28.10). She totaled 40 of the Eagles’ points.
“I felt decent,” Sharer said. “It’s good to get back out here, I forgot how it feels. But it’s nice and I’m happy to be back. The weather wasn’t great, but I know it’s going to be worse at other meets.”
