AVON REYNOLDS RELAYS: EAGLES RULE AT OWN INVITATIONAL

On April 28, the Eagles won their fifth straight home meet, scoring 108.5 points and edging Highland (101) during the 41st event.

Most notably, the Firment twins, Lexie and Sydnie, competed for the final time at the stadium named after their grandfather, Joe Firment, and had big days.

The Firments, along with Evelyn Pelfrey and Jules Frombach, broke the meet record in the 4×800 relay (9:46.91), along with breaking the school record in the distance medley relay (12:42.54) .

“We were shooting for the DMR record today and we got that school record,” Sydnie said. “We were really focusing on that. And in the 4×8, we were trying to beat St. Joseph to see where we were at for our regionals and we ended up winning the whole thing, which was nice. It put us in perspective of where we are for districts and regionals.”
