Avon opened this season with a heart-breaking loss to Brecksville-Broadview Heights on March 23 when a two-run single in the bottom of the ninth sent the Eagles home disappointed.
But they didn’t wallow for long.
Back on its home field, Avon jumped to an early lead and kept the pressure on all game, beating Willoughby South, 4-1, for its first win of the young season.
