AVON — Strongsville is probably glad it won’t have to play Avon again for a while.

The last time the teams met, it was in a Division I district final and the Eagles ended the Mustangs’ season. On Friday, the teams kicked off the season and once again Avon came away victorious, this time 4-0.

Avon has outscored Strongsville 10-1 in the two games.

“At this point in the season, I’m just pleased to be playing with good tempo offensively and defensively, even without the result,” Avon coach Chris Dore said. “I told them if that’s a representation of how we’re going to play this year, we’re going to be a tough team to beat.”
