Avon Athletic Booster Membership Drive

In today’s economy, school systems are more dependent on booster clubs to help fund athletic programs. While coaches’ salaries are paid by the Board of Education, the remainder of Avon’s athletic budget is funded solely from gate receipts at athletic events. Through your support and involvement, the Avon Athletic Boosters have been able to fund and support various projects and programs vital to our interscholastic athletes and teams at both the middle AND high school. No less important, however, the Boosters have also been able to support activities enhancing athletics and athletes throughout our Avon scholastic community.
Membership represents a large portion of the Booster Club’s revenue. With your support, we can continue to furnish the Athletic Department with funds, equipment and tools our student athletes need to succeed. In addition, head coaches are able to approach the Booster Club with financial requests for their individual programs. Plus, during each of the three sport seasons, $500 will be awarded to the top two athletic teams with the highest percentage of families enrolled in the Avon Athletic Boosters.
The Avon Athletic Booster Club membership drive is open for the 2016-17 school year. All members will be recognized on an insert in the Fall and Winter sports programs and will receive our monthly electronic newsletter, packed with athletic and booster information. As another benefit of membership, each year the Boosters offer scholarship opportunities for up to ten senior athletes of Athletic Booster family members. And remember, each Athletic Booster Club membership receives two purple and gold “A” window decals and all memberships of $60 or more receive our annual commemorative pin! Your membership is tax deductible as the Avon Athletic Boosters Club is a qualified non-profit organization.
If you have questions, please contact Mike Kane (440) 653-5968 or Steve Sopko (440) 668-5735.
