VFW RECOGNIZES STUDENTS
Congratulations to the following students, who won recognition in this year’s VFW’s Young American Creative Patriotic Art Awards: 1st Place - Courtney Balasko; 2nd Place - Elizabeth Weir; 3rd Place - Tamara Jo Chaccour; and 4th Place - Luke Holtzman.
STUDENTS OF THE MONTH
Each month the staff members of Avon Middle School select students from each grade level who demonstrate the following qualities and accomplishments: exemplary citizenship, positive attitude toward learning, academic diligence in the classroom, service to others, and involvement in school activities. The following students have been honored as Students of the Month for APRIL:

ASSET THEME FOR APRIL
The Developmental Asset Theme for April is CITIZENSHIP, defined as "Young people are empowered to make positive changes in their community; they recognize and live up to their social and civic obligations." Descriptive statements include the following:
