The Avon Eagles continued their impressive season with a 4-1 home victory over the Bay Rockets on Jan. 7.

Avon was in control most of the night, but it took 11 minutes for the Eagles to get on the board, as freshman Connor Wing jammed home the first goal of the game off an assist from Alex Provenza.

Bay’s leading scorer, junior forward Jake Gaudino tied it up at the 7:48 mark of the second period, crossing up the goaltender on a breakaway goal.

It was Gaudino’s 15th goal of the season.

Although Avon outshot Bay, 23-13, in the first two periods, the game remained tied until senior forward Jarrett Green scored with only 18 seconds left in the middle frame, taking away some of the Rockets’ momentum.
