Dealing with two lightning delays, Avon rolled into Midivew like a storm and came away with a 4-1 win over the Middies with all four goals coming off the foot of junior Abby Delprincipe.

Getting a late start to the game with a storm moving through the area, Avon worked to keep the ball on the Midview side of the field. Pressuring up the middle, the Eagles waited for the right time to strike while setting up the offense.

Pushing the ball up and getting off a decent look, the Eagles looked to capitalize on its second corner of the game with senior Megan Sikora launching in the kick and Delprincipe sending it home.

“I think our girls, not only have they been busting their tales at practice, but it shows you in 20 minutes they scored two goals and came back out here focused,” Avon coach Attlla Csiszar said. “I think we can compete. This is a team that competes.”
