Avon didn’t waste any time finding the end zone early against North Olmsted. And the Eagles found it often.
Junior quarterback Ryan Maloy accounted for five touchdowns — all in the first half — and threw for 273 yards as Avon blew open a 6-point game against North Olmsted for a 51-14 victory on Sept. 15 at Westlake High School.
“On the passing plays, my receivers did all the work there. They got open and all I had to do was get them the ball,” said Maloy, who threw three touchdowns in the first quarter and ran for two scores in the second quarter. “And my line gave me enough time to make the plays and throws. Running the ball, my coaches design run plays for me and I did my job on it.”
