For five innings, the Avon offense sat in neutral against a veteran Bellevue group while trailing 7-2 on a bitter cold April 28 at the Prebis Memorial Class in Wellington.
The game was a already big step forward for the youthful Eagles program that fell to this team last year at the Prebis tournament, 14-4.
But the Eagles wanted to show so much more.
Scoring six runs in the top of the seventh, Avon beat Bellevue, 8-7.
