The days of Katie Beatty (Penn State) and Rachel Crumbacher (Ashland) may be over. However, under the leadership of first-year coach Ashleigh Hildreth, the Avon girls lacrosse team is ready to start a new era.
“We are a very young team,” Hildreth said. “I think that these girls are very dedicated, and hard-working. If they continue to play the way that they are playing in practice and give the amount of effort that they are giving, we are going to have a great season.”
The Eagles return three starters from their Northern Ohio Lacrosse League Championship season in 2022: Senior middie Nadia Benninghofen and sophomores Ayla Perez (middie) and Grace Herbert (goalie). Hildreth believes they’ve spearheaded the leadership role.
