AVON - Avon's passing game is in good hands.

Nolan Good took control of the Eagles offense Friday night, and the junior quarterback looked like the right pilot for the job, throwing for 204 yards and three touchdowns while adding another on the ground in a 49-7 win against Brunswick.

"It felt great,"Good said. "I was blessed to have varsity experience on the other side of the football last year playing corner. But to start at the position of quarterback in front of your city - the kids you grew up with, your friends, your family - it's really special. That's the most fun I've ever had in my entire life. I'll never take it for granted, I will cherish that moment for the rest of my entire life."

Of course, Avon also established Cincinnati commit Jakorion Caffey, who ran for 121 yards and two touchdowns on just 15 carries behind a veteran offensive line led by Michigan commit Luke Hamilton at tackle.

After the passing game misfired on the opening play, Caffey burst through the line for a 52-yard gain then punched home the first touchdown of the season from the 1-yard line.

Good had another misfire on his second throw but settled in to find senior Paul Leftrict, who made a nice move over the middle to get open for a third-down conversion. Good ran for 31 yards on the next two plays, including a 23-yard touchdown.
