END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR

As we approach the end of this school year, we wish to thank you for your support, patience, and understanding during this challenging year. With families and the school working together, we have been able to continue educating our AMS students in meaningful, effective, and impactful ways—both in-person and virtually. Wednesday, June 2 will be our last day for this school year, followed by teacher In-Service Day on June 3. Please note the following links below that relate to the ending of the school year.

STUDENTS OF THE MONTH

Each month the staff members of Avon Middle School select students from each grade level who demonstrate the following qualities and accomplishments: exemplary citizenship, positive attitude toward learning, academic diligence in the classroom, service to others, and involvement in school activities.The following students have been honored as Students of the Month for MAY:
  • SIXTH GRADE –  Molley Kennedy and Grady Pellittieri
  • SEVENTH GRADE – Jasur Anwar, Lillie Gardner, Caden Hoang, and Elleanna Ross
  • EIGHTH GRADE – Thea Beran, Max Meade, Jack Partridge, and Hannah Slivochka

Each year the Avon Schools Art Department presents a special Art Show to display the many talents of our student artists. Please view this year's show via the link provided below. ASSET THEME FOR MAY

The 40 Developmental Assets Theme for May is EMPOWERMENT, defined as "Young people feel valued by their community and have opportunities to contribute to others. Young people have a strong sense of their own power, purpose, worth,and promise." Descriptive statements about this theme include the following:
  • I have a useful role in my community and I know how I can contribute my services.
  • I believe I can positively impact the attitude toward youth in my community.
  • I often volunteer my services in the community.
  • I can do useful, important things with my life, and I have dreams and goals for myself.
