Michelle’s Haney, M. Ed.

Michelle Haney joined Avon Local Schools in the summer of 2001, as a 6th grade teacher. She earned her bachelors in education from Kent State University and a M.Ed. in Curriculum from Ashland in 2008. She will receive her M.Ed in School counseling from Cleveland State this May, 2019.

Mrs. Haney is a member of the American School Counseling Association, the Avon Local School's crisis team, the Heritage Building Leadership Committee, Avon Local School Teacher's Administration Council, and the Heritage Elementary Positive Behavior and Intervention Team.

Mrs. Haney lives in Avon Lake with her husband and two daughters. Both of her children attend the Avon Local Schools. During her spare time, Mrs. Haney enjoys running, crafts, gardening, the outdoors, and spending time with her family watching the sunset and bike riding. Mrs. Haney's passion is helping others and collaborating with stake holders in the community to best service Avon students and their families.

Jessica Stringer, M.Ed. ~ School Counselor

Jessica Stringer, M.Ed.

Jessica Stringer joined Avon Local Schools in the summer of 2011. She studied psychology at Cleveland State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts. She received her Master's in Education for School Counseling in 2009 from Cleveland State University as well as her Administrative License, in the Spring 2012. Mrs. Stringer spent time during her internship working at Lakewood High School and Hayes Elementary School. She officially began her career as a School Counselor with Cleveland Heights-University Heights Schools, Fairfax Elementary, grades 3-5, in 2009.

Mrs. Stringer is a member of the American School Counseling Association, the Ohio School Counselor Association, the Lorain County Schools Crisis Counseling Team, the Heritage Elementary Safety Committee, The Heritage Positive Behavior and Intervention Committee, the Heritage Building Leadership Committee, . Along with Mrs. Haney, she also works closely with the Heritage Elementary Kids Who Care Club to support and connect our students with resources and enable them opportunities to give back to the community.

Mrs. Stringer lives in Avon with her husband and three children. Her oldest son attends John Caroll University, her daughter is a Senior at Avon High School and her son is Sophomore at Elyria catholic High School. During her spare time, she enjoys, Reading, Yoga and spending time with family and friends. She is also an avid Cleveland sports fan. She is very happy to have the opportunity to work with students and their families in the Avon community.

Chuck Miller M.A., Psy.S. ~ School Psychologist

Chuck Miller joined the Avon Local School District in 2003 as a School Psychologist. He studied psychology at Baldwin Wallace University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. He continued his studies at Cleveland State University where he earned a Master of Arts in Psychology and a Psychology Specialist degree in School Psychology. He is a member of the National Association of School Psychologists and the Ohio School Psychologists Association. Chuck lives in the area with his wife and three children. In his free time, he enjoys reading, gardening, hiking and spending time with family and friends.

Jaclyn Russo is our Speech-Language Pathologist at Heritage Elementary. Mrs. Russo is licensed through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, Ohio Board of Speech-Language Pathology, and the Ohio Board of Education. Mrs. Russo attended Baldwin Wallace University as an undergraduate student. She graduated with her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Disorders in 2012. She went on to earn her Master of Science Degree in Speech-Language Pathology at Bowling Green State University in 2014. Mrs. Russo joined the Avon Local Schools team after graduation in 2014. Her passion has always been to work with children.

A fun fact about Mrs. Russo is that she has a twin sister named Mrs. Rush. Mrs. Rush is a kindergarten teacher at the Early Learning Center. Mrs. Russo's dream was to work in the same district as her twin sister—and this dream came true in 2014! Mrs. Russo enjoys spending time with her husband. She met her husband at Baldwin Wallace University on the football field. While Mr. Russo was busy playing football, Mrs. Russo was busy as a cheerleader cheering the Yellow Jackets on to a victory.
